Las Vegas Entertainment Roundup: Lionel Richie Postpones Wynn Residency Amid Health Update

Legendary performer Lionel Richie has officially postponed three major shows scheduled for October 17 at the Encore Theater inside the Wynn Las Vegas as he recovers from a recent medical procedure. Music fans visiting Sin City for a weekend getaway will need to adjust their itineraries, though plenty of other high stakes entertainment and live acts continue to light up the Strip alongside popular gaming floors.

Why did Lionel Richie postpone his Las Vegas shows?

The 77 year old singer songwriter recently disclosed that he underwent a necessary medical procedure to address atrial fibrillation. This health update forced the artist to cancel multiple performances, following earlier cancellations on his joint tour with Earth, Wind, and Fire as well as previous stops in St. Louis and St. Paul. Fans holding tickets for the October dates at the Encore Theater should check with the venue regarding refund policies or rescheduled performance dates.

While taking a break from the stage, visitors can still enjoy the vibrant nightlife and vibrant casino resorts that make the city a global capital of excitement. Meanwhile, other classic acts like En Vogue, Chicago, and Nickelback continue to draw massive crowds to various venues across the valley. Tourists flocking to the entertainment capital often split their time between legendary concert venues and high limit casino rooms, balancing their love for live music with a spin on the roulette wheel or a hand of blackjack.

How does this impact your Vegas vacation plans?

Concert cancellations are always disappointing for travelers who build their vacations around specific headline acts. However, the entertainment capital of the world always offers plenty of alternative options for visitors looking to make the most of their getaway.
