Alberta iGaming Registrant List Reaches 35 Operators
Alberta’s iGaming market is gearing up for its July 13 launch, and the province’s gaming regulator has confirmed that 35 operators have now officially registered to offer services when the market opens.
Among the registered operators are major industry players including Caesars, DraftKings, and FanDuel. To secure their operating license in the new market, each operator is required to pay a one-time application fee of $50,000, plus an annual licensing fee of $150,000.
These private registered operators will compete directly with Alberta’s government-run iGaming platform, Play Alberta, marking a significant shift in the province’s gaming landscape as the private sector enters the previously government-controlled online gaming space.
